DAY CARE CENTERS: Good or Bad!
It is often seen nowadays that both the parents work. This situation is necessary to meet the lifestyles of the people. When both the parents work children have to be left in a day care. There are very few other options such as a nanny or grandparents. These options are not a permanent solution and not always reliable.
Hence most of the parents prefer day cares. But like every coin has two sides, even day cares have their pros and cons. When talking about pros we can say that they are the most reliable. This is said in the sense that they will not escape from their responsibility in the end moment. Some schools have day cares attached to them which are very convenient for most parents. Children are also given food in day cares and made to do their homework there only. Children also interact with other children of the day care and make friends. They learn how to make friends and also how to cooperate with them.
Day cares also teach children discipline which is a very important quality. They are taught how to do everything efficiently in time and also to share and care for other children in their day care.
That being said we can see that there are a lot of negative factors also. Leaving your children in day care centers is not always a piece of cake. Before selecting the day care center the parents should make sure that it is safe. They should also see if they are authorized to run a day care center. Recently in the news it was seen that many day care centers were involved in child trafficking. It was also seen that they used children as bait for criminal activities. It was also reported that children were used to beg for money.
All these precautions need to be taken while selecting the right day care for your children. Also the sanitation of the places should be checked. Parents should talk to other parents who already send their children to a particular day care center.
It is also seen that children who go to day care centers turn out be more silent and introverted than the children who don’t. This could be because they do not get the same freedom in day care centers as they would at home. They often feel pulled back and restricted for everything.
To conclude we can say that parents should be very careful while selecting the day care centers for their children as that decides a major part of children’s character and mental and physical health. Parents should do thorough research before they hand over the responsibility of their children to the day care centers.\
